Garage48 Hardware & Arts will be a one of a kind hackathon bringing together the creative communities of electronics, mechatronics, software engineers, artists, product designers and marketeers at University of Tartu, Institute of Physics on February 5-7, 2016.

This will be a truly amazing hackathon, where we expect people to work on crazy ideas with the aim to have fun while developing something cool and REAL - something you can hold in your hands. No matter what skills you possess - everybody who wants to build something is welcome! We want to engage people from different levels of experience: from students to experienced electronics engineers and start-up entrepreneurs.

Hardware & Arts – Who should come?
Garage48 Hardware & Arts 2016 invites participants with various roles:
  • If your passion is Designing - UI / UX Design or designing/creating physical things - we want you at our event!
  • If you are best at Building - Electronics, Mechanics, Server programming, Mobile or web apps - we want you to come!
  • If you are Dreaming or Selling big - we want you at Garage48!

Thank you for a great Mobile Monday event!

The final Mobile Monday event of this year was held last Friday - thank you all for attending and for yet another fantastic MoMo event! We had 99 participants and the panels presented at the event were indeed highly interesting.

Music panel had mixed tech and music people, for example Helen Sildna, as the new Citizen of the Year award recipient, and the über-cool and highly successful Finnish music producer Sillamaa (she is able to live off completely from her band - not a usual achievement for a musician as usually musicians have to have a day-job to support them).

It was great to witness how music and tech people see the world so differently - ranging from ownership of ideas to how to execute them. However, we must concede - our core values are the same and creativity definitely is a shared trait.

The community panel featured both start-ups and Tartu City Council. We discussed how not to loose Tartu's identity and how to make Tartu a better place for everyone. The resulting very first Tartu community discussion meet-up was announced and on Tuesday 35 people gathered for a follow-up lunch in Garage48 hub in town to discuss these topics in more detail.

In conclusion - it was a truly a great Mobile Monday plus we had an awesome party later at Genialistide Klubi together with Tartu Music Week.

Let's do something like this again!
