Tallinnas toimuva StartSmart! ürituse peaesineja on Euroopa juhtivaid ärisuhtluse strateege Andy Lopata

Järgmisel nädalal, 26.-27.aprillil, toimub Ülemiste Citys idufirmadele mõeldud üritustesarjas StartSmart! kevadhooaja viimane seminar, kus tutvustatakse alustavate ettevõtete rahvusvahelistumise võimalusi. Ürituse peaesineja on Andy Lopata, keda ajaleht Financial Times nimetab üheks Euroopa juhtivaks ärisuhtluse strateegiks. Lisaks Lopatale on kohal ka USA 2009. aasta äriingel Bill Payne.

Ülemiste Citys toimuva seminari “Roadmap2GlobalMarkets” eemärgiks on innustada Eesti alustavaid ettevõtjaid suurelt mõtlema ja õppima rahvusvaheliselt tunnustatud ettevõtjate kogemustest.

Seminari peaesinejale Andy Lopatale on ajaleht “The Sun” andnud hüüdnime Mr.Network. Lopata on kolme ärikontaktide temaatikat kajastava raamatu autor ja ta on aidanud ärikontaktide võrgustike potentsiaali realiseerida nii väikestel ettevõtetel kui ka suurtel organisatsioonidel nagu Deloitte, Merrill Lynch ja Mastercard.

Technopolis Ülemiste juhatuse esimehe Gert Jostovi sõnul on võrgustumisest rääkimine oluline, sest rahvusvahelises suhtlemises on eestlased vahel kohmetud ja ei ole tihti teadlikud sellest, kuidas kontaktvõrgustikku edendada ja seda äri hüvanguks ning uutele turgudele liikumiseks ära kasutada.

Lisaks Lopatale esineb ürituse esimesel päeval üle 50 investeeringu teinud äriingel Bill Payne, kes õpetab idufirmasid ingelinvesteeringuteks valmistuma.

Arengufondi investeeringute divisjoni juht Heidi Kakko hindas:"Nii Eesti idufirmad kui äriinglid saavad kindlasti kasu Billi kogemustest ning veelgi enam - äriinglitel on mai alguses unikaalne võimalus osaleda Bill Bayne'i juhtimisel toimuvas äriinglite meistriklassis.“

Teiste seminari esinejate seas on Eesti eduka idufirma Pipedrive asutaja Timo Rein ning Dr. Martin Seppäla, kes on strateegilise juhtimise alal nõustanud ülemaailmselt tuntud ettevõtteid nagu Nokia, Teliasonera ja HP.

Teisel päeval toimub praktiline seminar, mille käigus meeskonnad koostavad Yrjö Ojasaare eestvedamisel oma äriideest lähtuva tegevusplaani rahvusvahelistele turgudele jõudmiseks. Ojasaar on mitmete tehnoloogia-ettevõtete asutaja, juht, investor ja nõustaja.

Eelmised StartSmart! sarja üritused on osutunud alustavate ettevõtjate seas väga populaarseks - veebruaris Tallinnas toimunud seminaril “Models4Business” osales üle 200 inimese Eestist ja Soomest ning ürituse otseülekannet koduleheküljel jälgis kokku 18 000 inimest üle maailma. Märtsis Helsingis koostöös Aalto Ülikooliga toimunud seminaril “Steps4Success” oli kohal 250 osalejat, sealhulgas mitukümmend noort Eesti ettevõtjat.

StartSmart! on konverentside, praktiliste seminaride, töötubade ja võrgustikku laiendavate ürituste sari, mis on suunatud Eesti ja Soome alustavatele ettevõtjatele. Üritustesari kestab 2013. aasta keskpaigani ja seda organiseerivad koostöös Eesti Arengufond, Aalto Ülikool Soomes, Eesti Ettevõtluse Arendamise Sihtasutus, Technopolis Ülemiste ja konsultatsioonifirma BDA Consulting. The Mobile Premier Awards announce winners at MWC - AppCircus Tallinn Runner-Up BearCare amongst them!

The runner up in AppCircus Tallinn, the Lithuanian BearCare was selected as the favourite of the Jury and becoming one of the three winners of the Mobile Premiere Awards at the Mobile World Congress this year. Congratulations to the team!

MoMo Estonia hosted and organized an AppCircus Tallinn event in October 2011. The two best apps of the AppCircus were selected in Ülemiste City by a competent jury. The two highlights of this event were Qminder and BearCare. Qminder was selected as the winner and BearCare as the runner-up of AppCircus Tallinn.

Both apps made it to the Mobile Premier Awards which is one of the traditional highlights at MWC in Barcelona. Organized by App Circus, the event comes as the conclusion of a one-year international competition process to showcase the 20 best apps.

Three winners were chosen at the Mobile Premier Awards. Best App Winner (jury): BearCare; Audience Award: Touchy Books; and Ringmaster's Award (organizers): Mafuta Go.

Mafuta Go is one of the Garage48 Kampala, Uganda teams, launched in September.

The AppZircus Tallinn winner QMinder makes it to Barcelona!

Qminder made it through the tough competition to reach the finals of Mobile Premiere Awards in Barcelona.

Mobile Premiere Awards write that the top 20 global apps from the AppCircus 2011 World Tour have today been announced to pitch live for Best App of the Year at the 6^th Annual Mobile Premier Awards on February 27^th, in Barcelona – coinciding with the Mobile World Congress.
The twenty AppCircus finalists were selected by an international jury of mobile industry heavyweights, including experts from Facebook, Twitter and Mozilla out of 47 other AppCircus World Tour winners from 26 countries world-wide. All finalists selected to pitch at the Mobile Premier Awards were winners of their respective countries during the AppCircus world tour in 2011.

From 20.-22. of Nov 2011 a prominent delegation of Russian ICT delegates are visiting Tallinn, Estonia. During the three-day visit, the delegation will meet prominent Estonian ICT companies, organizations, representatives and the public presenting their business to the interested parties.

Do you want to present your app at Mobile Premiere Awards during the Mobile World Congress 2012? Come and present your mobile application at AppCircus Tallinn! Deadline for app submission is 06.11.2011

AppCircus, the showcase of the most innovative and creative apps, arrives to Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, on the 21st of November at the Technopolis Ülemiste.

AppCircus is open and free to developers, startups and any other organization with apps on any platform, giving a great chance to present live their applications on stage.

An international jury will select one winner, who will get an opportunity to be nominated for the Mobile Premier Awards 2012, which are held during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

The deadline to participate is the 11th of November 2011!

Rules for Participation:

Submissions and presentations to AppCircus are FREE and open to any developer, startup or company.

Applicants must send one representative to present the app live on stage.

The apps selected will have three minutes to pitch on stage.

Apps are submitted through the AppCircus platform at appcircus.com.

Registration and membership for AppCircus are FREE!

appcircus.com members need to add the app to their profile before applying for an AppCircus.

Candidates can submit more than one app.

Each app can only be presented in one AppCircus, unless if it receives a Runner up Waiver.

One app in each AppCircus event will be nominated for the pool of apps from which the 20 finalists for the Mobile Premier Awards 2012 will be selected.

The app with the most votes, after the nomination winner, will receive a “Runner up Waiver”, which allows the app to reapply for selection for another AppCircus.

We encourage all the mobile app developers in the region to participate in the event. AppCircus gives the great opportunity to maximize the companie's visibility all over the mobile industry and the chance to win the presentation at the most prominent mobile event of the year - Mobile World Congress 2011.

Andreas Constantinou, Founder and Managing Director of VisionMobile, a leading market analysis and strategy firm for all things connected, is visiting Estonia, Tallinn with a comprehensive presentation about the mobile market state to date. World famous AppCircus comes to Estonia, Tallinn on 21.11.2011. Want to be presented at the Mobile World Congress 2012? Deadline for app submission is 31.10.2011

AppCircus, the showcase of the most innovative and creative apps, arrives to Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, on the 21st of November at the Technopolis ÜlemisteTechnopolis Ülemiste.

AppCircus is open and free to developers, startups and any other organization with apps on any platform, giving a great chance to present live their applications on stage.

An internacional jury will select one winner, who will get an opportunity to be nominated for the Mobile Premier Awards 2012, which are held during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

The deadline to participate is the 31st of October!

Rules for Participation:

Submissions and presentations to AppCircus are FREE and open to any developer, startup or company.

Applicants must send one representative to present the app live on stage.

The apps selected will have three minutes to pitch on stage.

Apps are submitted through the AppCircus platform at appcircus.com.

Registration and membership for AppCircus are FREE!

appcircus.com members need to add the app to their profile before applying for an AppCircus.

Candidates can submit more than one app.

Each app can only be presented in one AppCircus, unless if it receives a Runner up Waiver.

One app in each AppCircus will be nominated for the pool of apps from which the 20 finalists for the Mobile Premier Awards 2012 will be selected.

The app with the most votes, after the nomination winner, will receive a “Runner up Waiver”, which allows the app to reapply for selection for another AppCircus.

MobileMonday Estonia in partnership with Devtraining and with friends from Agile.ee and DevClub is pleased to invite you to an event on 6th of June codenamed "Mobile Development requires Agile approach?".

We will try to figure out if agile software development and mobile industry can walk the same walk.

Agile development is gaining more popularity and ground all over the software development industry. Although, the approach has been around for over a decade, different agile software development methodologies are becoming more popular and applied in our fast-paced everyday life more and more.

MobileMonday Estonia is trying to look at Agile from a focused angle – we will try to understand if mobile software development is Agile-enabled by theory and also by best-practices.

Thanks to our partners at Devtraining the event will be opened by Mary Poppendieck to introduce Lean Software Development principles from the originator herself.
Mary will discuss how development teams can discover and build products that customers love. To confirm the workings of the theory we will also hear real-life examples from Estonian companies who have worked within the mobile industry.

Refreshments and venue are provided by our long-time partner Technopolis Ülemiste / Smart Business City. Event is held in English and registration is mandatory. Thank You!

Tehnopol kutsub kõik tehnoloogia- ja loomettevõtteid ning koostööpartnereid Eestist ja mujalt traditsioonilisse suveklubisse, mis toimub sel aastal 10 - 11. juunil Nelijärve Puhkekeskuses. Seekord paneme käed, jalad ja mõistuse liikuma selleks, et leiutada ning arendada uudne jalgratas.

Legend

Ratas võeti kasutusele juba viie aastatuhande eest ning see on kujunenud inimkonna tehnilise arengu kõige algelisemaks, ent mõjukaimaks leiutiseks. Võttis tuhandeid aastaid enne, kui inimesel tekkis mõte ühendada kaks ratast isiklikuks liiklusvahendiks, mis liigub sõitja enese jõul. Nii sündis jalgratas - vanim ja algelisim isiklik liiklusvahend, mida liigutab sõitja enda jõud.

Jalgratta arenguprotsess on sarnane ühiskonnas ja majanduses toimivate protsessidega. Inimkonna põhivajadusi rahuldavad tooted ja teenused on ammu olemas. Siiski töötame päev päeva järel selleks, teha olevikku veelgi täiuslikumaks ning pakkuda üha uusi lahendusi, mugavusi, võimalusi.

Leiutame jalgratta

Et jõuda uute toodete ja teenusteni liigume tagasi põhilise juurde. Sellel aastal leiutamegi Tehnopoli suveklubis mõnusa seltskondliku suhtlemise tulemusena hulga erinevaid jalgrattaid, mille väljamõtlemisel ja täiustamisel on piiriks ainult inimese enese fantaasia. Eesmärgiks on luua, ehitada, disainida ja žüriile "maha müüa" seninägematu liikur.

Põnev ja kasulik kõigile

Tegevust leiavad nii insenerid, konstruktorid, kuldsete kätega meistrimehed kui ka turundusgurud, finantsgeeniused, juhid-lobistid ning paljud teisedki. Protsessis nõustavad ja abistavad osalejaid asjatundjad ja visionärid nii Eestist kui välismaalt. Selle käigus on võimalik kindlasti luua kontakte, mis hiljem ka tööelus kasulikuks osutuvad.

Mine nüüd kohe poodi ja osta endale Aprilli kuu Arvutimaailm kust saad lugeda Mobile Monday Estonia tegevliikme Indrek Petersoo koostatud sisukat artiklit Eesti IT-firmade delegatsiooni ärikülastusest St. Peterburis 27.-29.03.11.

Artikkel annab hea ülevaate Mobile Monday Eesti koja poolt korraldatud IT-firmade ärivisiidist Peeter I asutatud Püha Peetruse linna, mille käigus tutvuti nii lummavate vaatamistväärsuste kui ka kohalike firmadega. Kirjatükis tuuakse ära nii külaliste kui ka võõrustajate kommentaarid ning soovitused Venemaa turule sisenemiseks. Artikli lõpus annab Indrek ka hea ülevaate Venemaa mobiilturu hetkeseisust.

MobileMonday: "Mobile Software Development - 3 years later" & Nokia Qt Quick training in Tallinn

We are back from St. Petersburg and we immediately carry on with the next event: "Mobile Software Development - 3 years later" preceded by the "Nokia Qt Quick training in Tallinn" on the same day. Venue as usual: Technopolis, Ülemiste City.

The idea is simple – exactly three years ago there was a MoMo event in Estonia focusing on mobile software development: "Software Development for Mobile Phones: Platforms, Users, and Managing Complexity."

Those of you who have been longer with us may remember the event in the sunny Tartu focusing on J2ME, the fuzz about Flash development, and the moaning about the fragmentation of mobile platforms.

This time we'll look back on these three years, we'll see what's happening today and for just the fun try to predict what happens during the next three years. Maybe we can then see if our predictions were correct :)

The program of the event will feature introduction with the look-back, short presentations about currently relevant development platforms and an open panel discussion looking forward in the mobile development landscape.

Summary - Estonian Entrepreneurs in St Petersburg on 27th-29th of March

27th-29th of March MoMo Estonia visited St Petersburg with the delegation of Estonian Entrepreneurs, presenting the examples of Estonian ICT industry.

We had a very nice (business) trip to St Petersburg, mixed with interesting meetings, in Reksoft, Estonian Consulate General, local MoMo St Petersburg event, and Technopolis Pulkovo. We enjoyed local cuisine and visited the newly renovated Estonian Jaani church in St. Petersburg.

We felt very welcome and an enormous interest towards Estonia. We already have warm feedback and visibility in press by http://www.spbit.ru here and here. Thank you St. Petersburg!

Yes, the little blue box on the right side on our web page is now hosting all the major ICT-related events in Estonia. Including our own Mobile Monday Estonia related events.

The reason to merge the calendars is obvious. As there are many events being held from many different parties, then shared knowledge enables to simplify planning. Most of all - for the users it enables to keep an eye on all the events being held in Estonian ICT-landscape.

So, keep a close eye on the event list on the right and better yet - merge the calendar with your own calendar in order not to miss the action!
