Belgacom Buys SMS Parking Payments Provider Mobile-For

Belgian network operator Belgacom has bought SMS parking payments provider Mobile-for. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The two year old start-up was created by Belgian parking operator Apcoa Belgium and the Estonian Now! Innovations and currently offers SMS parking in seven Belgian cities. It plans to roll out in three more by the end of the year. Belgacom said the purchase fits with its strategy of investing in the growing mobile payments market, which would allow it to expand its products.
